- ICQ now stores your Contact List on the server. This means that your Contact List is available to you when you install ICQ on another computer or wireless device.
- A new ICQ global hot key can be set in the preferences. This hot key brings ICQ to the front and opens the first pending message.

Balloon Help
(not available on ICQ 2.6 X)
Most ICQ windows now feature context-sensitive help through the Balloon Help manager. To activate the help balloons, do one of the following:
- Select "Show balloons" from the help menu.
- Press the 'control' key while your cursor is over an ICQ window.
- Put your cursor over an ICQ window and do not move it for about 2 seconds. Balloon help will pop up unless you have disabled this feature through the Help Menu.

Message History

ICQ E-Mail
- ICQ has a built-in E-Mail client. Now you can use ICQ to easily send E-Mail messages.
ICQ E-Mail Checker
- ICQ can check if you have got new mail on your mail server periodically. This version supports only one account at a time on a POP3 mail server. The checker allows you to see the details (sender, size and date) of messages on the mail server, delete messages from the mail server and view the top 10 lines of each E-Mail.

PC/Mac Character Translation
- Character translation allows the ICQ Mac client to translate messages written in some non-English latin languages, from MS-WindowsTM standards to the Macintosh standards and vice versa. This feature is available in message and split-chat windows.
Miscaneous features
- ICQ now supports the "Add Me" feature on the ICQ Web pages.
- An ICQ White-Pages button on your "View/Change My Details" window. The ICQ White-Pages button directs you to the ICQ Web site where you can enter additional information about yourself.

Older ICQ versions
The last version of ICQ for Mac that was compatible with Mac OS versions below 8.5 is 2.0. Unfortunately, ICQ cannot continue to develop for older versions of the Mac OS. Version 2.0 is still available for download on our site for those users who wish to use ICQ on their old Operating Systems. However, this version is not supported.
The last version of ICQ for Mac that is compatible with 68K Macintoshes is 1.7.2. Unfortunately, ICQ cannot continue to support the 68K platform. Version 1.7.2 is still available for download on our site for those users who wish to use ICQ on their old Macs. However, this version is not supported.
